Company Policies

​​1. Payments for keys and services.

 

Once a mobile service has been booked outside our service area, we require a DEPOSIT made on the total invoice prior to travel via a secure square payment checkout link. For lockout services, we require FULL PREPAYMENT. This is done in order to reserve our limited appointment slots and to protect our company from no-shows or last minute cancellations. This fee is 100% refundable ONLY if cancelled prior to departure and PARTIALLY refunded if our technicians have already arrived. If Car-Tek, due to unforeseen circumstances, cannot fulfill the appointment, you will receive full reimbursement. The full payment of the work order invoice is due on arrival before work begins. All special key, fob, module, locks and hardware pre-orders require payment upfront.

​2. Identification.

 

We require identification for lockouts and lost key recovery situations. Government Issued Driver's Licenses and Vehicle Registration.​

3. 75$ Diagnostics Fee.

 

We charge a 75$ Diagnostics Fee on top of our service call fee for jobs that are considered no-crank-no-starts, or crank no starts. (This fee may be greater on European cars). This fee may also be applied as a credit to the final repair bill if the customer chooses to follow-thru with needed service requirement, otherwise it remains as a stand-alone fee.

4. Refunds Full/Partial. 

 

Car-Tek Locksmith Ltd provides full refunds on labor services, hardware or service calls when unfulfilled by us. Car-Tek does not provide refunds once a job has been completed and or items are open-boxed and installed. Only PARTIAL Refunds are processed for Service Call fees if our Technicians have arrived or are En-route to a job site and we receive a cancellation request. On special orders for Keys, hardware or vehicle ECU's /parts, refunds will be processed if supplier policy permits, minus any import duties if U.S sourced.

5. Warranties.

 

We offer a 1 Year warranty on Car-Tek Supplied Vehicle Keys. (Does not apply to liquid, water or physical damage). We offer service warranties of 4 months for Lock and Key hardware related call-backs. We offer 5 Year Warranty on the N.C.N.S Anti-Theft System with extensions available. 

6. Privacy

We take customer privacy seriously at Car-Tek Locksmith. No sensitive information other than contact names, phone numbers and prior receipts are kept on a secure server for call-back purposes. All information related to security is never stored or shared and is shredded / deleted once work is completed.

7. Third Party Keys

WE DO NOT accept third party keys (bring your own key), bought on Amazon, Ebay or anywhere else as a RULE. The only EXCEPTION we make is when we do not have that particular key in stock at the time of need or if it is an OEM original dealer key. 

8. Scammers and Dishonest Clientele

We take security seriously and have a strict policy on scam artists and dishonest clients who forgo or suppress information in an attempt to use our services to defraud us or damage our reputation with intent. All legal avenues are open to us in cases where this has been detected or discovered by our staff. We pride ourself on being upfront and honest and we expect the same from our customers and competitors.
